Skeinote publishes a yarn-planning calculator, a developing catalogue of yarn-line records, and editorial guides. By using the site, you accept these terms.

Operator

Skeinote is operated by Ansh Deb, sole proprietor trading as Red Mouse Media in India.

Planning, not a substitution guarantee

The calculator turns entered or stored length values into a whole-skein yardage equivalent. It may compare stored numeric weight-category values, but it does not recommend a yarn or certify a substitution.

Yarn choice involves factors the calculator cannot decide, including gauge, fiber, construction, drape, stitch pattern, color, care, availability, price, and the pattern's requirements. Check the label, consult the pattern, and swatch before buying yarn or starting a project.

Catalogue and source material

The site aims to present yarn information accurately, with source links and dates where available. It does not guarantee that a record is current, complete, or free from transcription error. Makers can change product pages, labels, ranges, and specifications without notice. Check the maker's current information and the yarn you receive before relying on a figure.

Manufacturer, product, and trademark names are used to identify products and sources. They belong to their respective owners. Skeinote is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those owners.
