Skeins to length

Multiply the pattern's skein count by the yardage per skein printed for the pattern's yarn.

Length to skeins

Divide the total length by the yardage per skein printed for the new yarn, then round up to a whole skein. The raw quotient tells you how close the rounding was.

When the pattern gives length instead of skeins

Enter the length directly and choose yards or metres. The maker's printed unit stays primary; the other unit is shown as approximate.
